The hair tuck tutorial

Remember when I posted pictures about the hair tuck? (here) Since you’ve asked me to do a tutorial on how to do the hair tuck, I took the time to fulfil your wishes :)

All you need is :

DSC03793 a head band DSC03799 and your amazing self :)

First you take the headband and put it on your head. Make sure all of the hair lays under the headband.

Then you take a strand of your hair and just tuck it into the headband (hence the name hair tuck^^).

DSC03802 DSC03803

You do this with all the hair on one side, so at the end it will look like this : DSC03804

After this, you do the same thing on the other side and you will get this result : lunapic_136906357960057_3DSC03806DSC03807

Now you take all the hair that’s left behind and tuck it altogether into the headband, just like you did before but make sure there’s no hair coming out of the headband. Now this step is for me really complicated because my hair is so short and it really won’t stay in the headband, so if you have longer hair, it will be definitely easier!

Voilà, this is the end result : hair tuck1

As you might see, my hair is already slowly getting out of the headband because I didn’t put any hairspray in it. But with longer hair, this won’t be an issue. All you have to do now is be awesome all day long :) hair tuck

Oh and another positive aspect about this hairstyle is that you get cute pretty curls when you take your hair down after a few hours :)

Enjoy! And if you want to show me your results, please do so!

Yesterday I went to work at the bar. In Luxembourg, there’s always a huge fuss about the carnival and there are many many horrible songs that are played to death during this time. So yesterday there was a soccer thing…party…event at the bar, and they were playing soccer fan songs or stuff (I can’t really describe what it was) over and over and this made me realize that those songs are even more terrible than the carnival songs^^ But I’m used to drunk people and their chanting, so I survived :) Tomorrow I’m gonna have to get up super early to take the train to Luxembourg city for my internship. I’m a bit excited about it :)

Insta sunday

UntitledAs usual, the instagram pictures I uploaded over the week. You can follow me @carmenferigo.

Today I got up early to do a long workout, as I will probably do tomorrow. But since I’m going to work at the bar tonight, it all depends on the time I get home, but it will probably be quite late. I don’t know about you, but I just can’t do nothing all day long anymore. I think it has to do with my studies because when you’re a law student there’s always some work to do. Once there’s nothing to do anymore, you feel kinda useless. This is why I love going to the gym early in the morning or working at the bar. It keeps me busy :)

Have a nice sunday, guys! xx Carmen

Studs and Strasbourg

I’ve only just got back to Luxembourg and I already miss Strasbourg. It’s such a charming city with so many amazing people and it has been my home for 4 years now. At the moment I’m quite busy with the stuff you do when you have a few days off, like dentist appointments, and I’ve started my applications for the Master 2. There are only 20 to 25 open positions for 300 or 400 applications so I will definitely pray that I’m one of the lucky ones!

This is what I wore on tuesday, the day I wrote my final exam :) Later today I have an appointment with my coach at the gym, so I think I will be exhausted tonight!

DSC03734 DSC03736DSC03737DSC03738 DSC03740What I’m wearing : boots: Zara // Jeggings : Hollister // Cardigan : Replay // Necklace : Thomas Sabo // Bag : Alexander Wang – Rocco // Watch : Louis Vuitton

Tea time

Yesterday I went to the cutest little café in Strasbourg! It’s called “Au fond du Jardin” and it’s right next to the cathedral. The whole concept is very british (with a lot of kitsch!) and they have created their own tea selection and madeleines. I went with a friend, Isabelle, and we had some of the madeleines and scones with tea. It was really delicious but we were a bit shocked about the price range. Still, it’s adorable and definitely worth a try. 2013-05-15 15.11.45 2013-05-15 16.07.32 2013-05-15 16.08.03 I’m officially done with my exams! The last few days I have been quite busy because I went shopping (what else?^^) and my best neighbour, Nathalie, has come back to Strasbourg for a few days so we spent a lot of time together as we hadn’t seen each other in a month or so. And of course we went out to celebrate our last exam! Soon I’m gonna head back to Luxembourg and enjoy my holidays but only until tuesday, because that’s when I’m starting my internship at a lawyer’s office.

Have a nice day everyone!

xx Carmen

Rocco

May I present : My new Alexander Wang Rocco bag. I’m so very much in love with it! DSC03726 DSC03727

I shot a picture with the Rocco next to my Speedy Cuir épi 25 so you can compare the sizes. DSC03728 DSC03729I told you yesterday that I went to the gym and today my muscles are killing me! I’m walking like a cowboy because everything else hurts like hell! But I can’t wait for friday to go back!

Hope you had a good start in the new week, guys and wish me luck for my last exam tomorrow!

xx Carmen

You know the drill

UntitledGot 200 followers on instagram today! Those of you who follow me on instagram or on facebook already know about my latest purchase : the Alexander Wang Rocco bag (pictures on the blog probably tomorrow or on tuesday). I’m so in love with this bag, if I could I would marry it and have cute little half human half rockie children with it!

I went to the gym this morning and it felt great! Finally got my ass in motion. I wanted to do another workout session tomorrow but since I’ve got an exam on tuesday and I’m not really prepared (AT ALL!!) for it yet, I think I should better stay home and study tomorrow morning. And tomorrow evening I’m gonna head back to Strasbourg and stay until friday because I have to get my applications for the Master 2 ready (and party, of course!).

Hope you guys had a great sunday,

xx to all of you,

Carmen

Cherries and the sun

DSC03721 DSC03723 DSC03724 DSC03725This is the outfit I wore on wednesday. That day was one of those days where EVERYTHING goes wrong. Daniel (the poor guy who always has to take my outfit shots and who has been a great friend for a while now) and I wanted to make a quick stop at McDonalds before heading back home to Luxembourg and we had to wait for what felt like an eternity (actually I think it was an hour, which is a bit long for a “fast” food restaurant). Then his elevator broke down so we had to use the stairs to get his stuff down and load it into my car (he lives on the 8th floor!!) and of course the 3 traffic jams I told you about. Such a horrible day! The only good thing about it was the weather.

This morning I got up early (ok I get up early every day because I’m an early bird, so it’s nothing special) to go to the gym with my mom and get subscribed. Tomorrow I’m gonna start with my workout. So excited! Many of my girlfriends think I’m crazy for getting excited about this but I’ve just really missed doing something for me and my body. As I’m travelling back and forth between Luxembourg and Strasbourg, it just would have been a waste of money to get a subscription. But since I’m gonna stay in Luxembourg for a while now, I just couldn’t resist going back to the gym.

Yesterday I went to the vet with my bunny, Penny, to get her reinoculated (I prefer doing the inoculations because she usually travels with me). Afterwards she was kinda traumatised and stayed hidden for a few hours, stomping with her feet on the ground (they do that when they sense danger to warn their fellows). But now she’s already forgotten about it and she’s hobbling again like nothing’s ever happened :) In the afternoon I drove to Echternach to meet with the guy who set up my law students association’s new website (click here) because I’m the web master and he had to show me how everything works.

What I’m wearing : Sunglasses : RayBan Aviator // Blazer : Zara // Shirt : Maison Scotch // Necklace : came with the shirt // Pants : Zara // Bag and scarf : Louis Vuitton Cherry Limited Edition // Bracelet : Chunky bracelet (find here) // Shoes : Tommy Hilfiger

Have a great saturday! xx Carmen

Air max the second

DSC03719

Voilà, my new air max! I already have a pair (this one) but even though I loved the pink ones from last year, I like my new ones better. Which is also why I’m going to take the pink ones to go to the gym (going back to the gym starting saturday after almost a year of staying with my lazy ass on the couch, I am REALLY looking forward to it!).

I had a hard time taking a picture of the shoes because every time I put something on the floor, these two cuties have to check it out, which makes it hard for me to take a picture without a tail or something fluffy in it:

DSC03716But they are so adorable so who can blame them?

I told you yesterday that I was heading back home to Luxembourg and this was one of the most nerve-wrecking drives I ever had. We were stuck in 3 different traffic jams, which added up to 5 whole hours of trying not to lose it. But we got home safe and sound, so I guess that’s the most important thing.

Today I spent my day cleaning my room, and with cleaning I mean throwing away everything I haven’t worn or haven’t used in a year. I feel so much better now. Please tell me that I’m not the only one who thinks that cleaning your rooms is like cleaning your soul?^^

I hope you guys had a great day, even though holidays can be boring when the weather is bad (which was the case in Luxembourg).

xx Carmen

Blog anniversary!

When I logged into wordpress today, this popped up : Screen Shot 2013-05-08 at 7.44.23 AM

So Happy blog anniversary to me! For the occasion I put together a little collage of a few of my favorite outfits.

Untitled_1

It has been a great year, thanks to you my dear readers, above all! But making this collage made me realize that I have blogged much less than I intended to. It might be because of my studies or just because at some point I wanted to stop blogging. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is that I will definitely blog a lot more this summer starting now :)

I’ve had my last big exam yesterday. I still have one to go next thursday but there’s much less subject matter (and it’s in german) so I guess until saturday or sunday I will be on a little holiday. Which is also why I went out with my girls (and boys) from university yesterday and it was so much fun. But now I’m gonna have to go clean up my apartment (you might guess what it looks like after 5 weeks of studying) and head back to Luxembourg.

Insta Sunday

UntitledIt’s sunday instagram pictures times again! If you want to, you may follow me @carmenferigo. The weather has been amazing those few last days, which makes it even harder to stay put in front of your books but starting tuesday I will have a lot more free time again so I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll have the time to do outfit shots again, finally! And I’m going back to the gym next week, I really can’t wait to move my ass again and get back in shape for summer!
